I had three Souls. Loved that little turbo runabout. I wanted the newer EV Soul so bad, and they never brought it to the USA. And yea, it was a primitive design. But a totally great city vehicle. So of course they discontinued it Sales were slipping, and now they have the Seltos..
I've owned 2 gas Souls and 2 Soul EVs. If the truck reminds me of those that'll be a major win! The video make me want it even more.

Will there be an upper grab/handle bar for either the driver or passenger? Didn't see one in the video.

I am so used to having them. They allow me to utilize the headroom. In my daily driver, I use them to hold my bungee cords so they're not tangled up in a bag.

Been thinking about this. I know Leno has a huge following because he is also a celebrity, but do you really think that most of his followers are not already carguys (people) who have not yet heard of the Slate? All the carguys I know have already heard about Slate.
From what I seen in the comments it seemed like there was alot more people who didn't know about it but I'd also say it's closer to a good mix of new and car people not to many people out right denying they slate a spot but some of that to overall far more positives and good questions

Every new video or content that comes out about Slate seems to get some views and comments from people who have literally never heard if it existing. I'm sure a significant fraction of Jay's viewers aren't really "car guys" and many are now newly exposed to the idea.

No doubt it'll hit 1 million views at some point. Any guesses when?

We both underguessed by a lot. The video is about to hit 1M views.
The viewership numbers on the video are probably undermined by the ratio of positive to critical comments. So far it's roughly a 50/50 split from a quick perusal of the comments section.

One thing I noticed in this video was that the Slate guy had obviously been trained in PR (yes, you get training for that). There are a few spots where Jay asked something unflattering, and the Slate guy just smoothly pivoted his response to redirect attention to his talking points.

If you have had PR training, you recognize the tactics in an instant. It's basically how to be so slippery that nothing sticks to you, and to get your sales message across. Always be positive. Always pivot your answer to cover the talking points that have been drilled into you.

Not criticizing. The guy was just doing his job.

You mentioned the wheels. Speaking of those, you can decorate them with stickers!

I’m just happy to see a video of the Slate driving on the street for blocks on end. And one of the 78 prototypes no less. Good to see a unit on the road with signals turned on, multiple interior and exterior shots (Action cams set up one in front, two inside, and one in the rear for those up close shots were nice), and everything else. Jay’s video is up to 1.4+ million views now. Still excited for this thing.
