Hmm....

I'm still excited about Slate Auto.
However, this video is about as informative (sarcasm) as the winter driving video.

After all, the truck is RWD, so why show a "tear down" only from the front?
Exactly. The things that kill any type of machine are dirt infiltration and heat. Other than the heat exchanger in the front bumper, all action happens at the rear of the vehicle.

You can see the rear is torn down too, they're just only showing one camera view. The purpose of the video is to inform us that they're doing tests, not to share their results (even though I want results).

Or...

It could be a build video just run backwards.

These videos aren’t for us, haha. It’s a marketing video for the youths and the folks who may be interested but not sure if a startup truck can last.
Slate wants to assure folks that their truck can last for miles. At least that’s what they want to portray.
Crowds like us need more than “💪”.
I’ll take what I can get and review their shorts in slow-mo until we have more info.
I don’t see substantial info and videos until closer to June and even then after release.

Yeah, I know what Slate intends with these video shorts and I do hope it is successful for Slate.
I'm certainly not a "youth", but I am still just as impatient as a kid at Christmas.
To me, these videos tease at me the way Santa Claus at the malls did so many years ago.

While it's not giving us the results of the test, it shows that they are doing the testing. Can you think of anyone just publicly showing their test results on a product at this stage? One that has potential competitors? Probably we will see a lot more stats and test results when they are actually asking us to sign purchase contracts.
Not donut, it seems their tests are for publicity.

I always take "simulated" wear with a cup of salt. Yeah you can shake the hell out of it, you can run it nonstop, you can put it in a weather chamber and crank it up and down in temp. You can even expose it to vinegar/salt/hydrogen peroxide all while bathing it in UV light, but combining gradual wear and breakdown of rubber and structural adhesives due to a little oxidation and chemical breakdown then more wear then more oxidation and breakdown, you can only accelerate time so much.

I would be more interested in a 5, 10, and 15 year UV exposure test to the body panels and interior materials.
I was wondering that as well.
Here in New Mexico a white plastic deck chair or a white 5 gallon plastic bucket will last about a year in the sun before literally disintegrating at the slightest touch.

Have to say lies! It’s like a 1970 ad on TV where you see this awesome product on TV for $19.95 and you order it and it’s junk, nothing like the original and already falling apart. Of course their version is going to be rugged.
