Hoping my place is 'held' until I accept / reject it so I can do the same.
Believe I read someplace early on that not accepting/ordering early would not cancel reservation. Maybe you should ask? Asit doesn’t apply to me, not searching 😁

I personally have driven almost all manner of land vehicle and am getting this no matter what XD
Oh, I'm sure there's limits to your decision. I know I would start questioning my desire to buy one if the price climbed above $35,000 for say the SUV kit, larger range battery and power windows. I know, those options might not be for everyone - but that's my preferred configuration, and the point where the Slate truck/SUV has to compete with other options in the market.

My point is, my blind, unchecked enthusiasm has usually gotten me in trouble lol. And I suspect most car salespeople count on it. :)

I'm a little over 6'ft but seem to have it more in the legs than anything which puts my seat further back. Non telescoping wheels like in my Geo pretty much mean I'm straight-arming it when driving. The Element seat sits upright like a truck but the wheel doesn't tilt nearly as far upwards as needed.
Regarding seating position, I was taught to get as far away from the steering wheel airbag as possible to minimize damage upon deployment. The advice was elbows slightly bent, thumbs hooked on the steering wheel spokes for the best control of the vehicle steering, and don't grab the steering wheel at the 10 & 2 o'clock positions. I found it's been the best driving advice I was given.

As someone who has played the waiting game for several new vehicle launches, it’s going to feel like eternity from the time you finally place your order and the time you take delivery.

And beginning with the test drive and up to delivery day, we just need to keep our expectations in check and aligned with a $25k vehicle.

I preordered our 21 MachE. Bought the same car as I ordered in February as a customer refused. Really low vin number. My preorder was not delivered until June and I refused it as I did not want 2 cars the same color.

Plan on ordering all the goodies but for home install if possible. Hope the large battery and accessory availability do not delay deliveries.

Maybe Slate could offer Blank and accessory deliveries as separate items so they can avoid unit out the door delays.

It only makes sense that the truck and accessories will ship separately, as the truck will go on a train car then a car carrier, accessories will likely be delivered by whatever package shipper gives the best rates. I'm thinking if you put in an order for truck and accessories, they probably wait to ship accessories until the truck is ready, you wouldn't want an SUV kit sitting around for months.

i cant stand rattles and squeaks. I think that would be the only deal breaker for me
You might have to go in by hand and put o-rings and gasketing material where the dash and door panels mount to get rid of rattles. I doubt Slate will use damped plastic rivets.

Build quality is gonna be one of the most interesting things for me. Even though I'm not buying year one, I'll be totally reading every review. Can't wait for 2027, to see people on this site reporting on their Slates. That's gonna rock.

Are pre-orders gonna be related to Reservations? How would that work? Did the article say when we could drive one? Where are all the betas they were making?

Crunch time is near! Will they have a separate web site for accessories, parts, wraps, etc.? Or will it all be in one go? Will we pick up at the installers or will they deliver? In other words how much time will I have to decide on what I want? Or will they come out with the base truck and the rest will follow?
