Manual transmission👍, but you're right
Gas 👎.
Edit: I know that there are no manual transmissions on EVs (nor are they needed). But I like 'em.

Both Toyota and Ford have working prototypes for a manual transmission in EVs just in case the future is all electric they don’t want to live in that world without a manual option lol. Now, I will be the first to say

Slate said their base price was gonna be less than $20,000, and I jumped on board because I liked the looks of it, you won’t even show us what it’s going to look like and it’s supposedly going to be out in several months. Definitely think this is BS and is AI just wanting my $25 to go to somewhere in Kenya
Well said. When a neighbor of mine listed his home with a realtor, they set up an open house drawing in hundreds of interested buyers. On the day of the big event, the guy next door put a huge sign on his lawn, “For Sale by Owner” simply to deter people away.I feel like this is more just to attack Slate considering the timing of it.
And Volvo is owned by the Chinese company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. So it makes you wonder if Geely, who are major players in the EV market would even consider a gas powered truck and certainly not one that needs a few bucks upfront.Best I can tell, Volvo still owns the REO brand, so it's likely not even available to use the name.
Geely should sue them into the ground, and then actually build a Slate competitor with the Golden Battery they make. And Volvo is owned by the Chinese company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. I think this REO is a scam, but it isn't to hard to hit 26mpg in a boxy pickup. My 2004 Tacoma base model 5-speed is rated 22/25 mpg, but I know it can easily get 28 mpg on the freeway from doing a number of Seattle to Portland and back runs. The secret is to not go over 70 mph.26 MPG is going to be real hard to hit in a boxy pickup. Why is the towing capacity 4x the payload? And why is a 4 cyl. gas powered vehicle 600 lbs heavier than a standard Slate?
