I'm disappointed I didn't figure this out earlier; how they came up with the $24,950 base figure.
I think their marketing team is pretty good, some would say great. The powers that be didn't just pull that number out of thin air, so here's my very convincing argument.
It's been said that when the creators of the Slate started out, their idea was "Friggin Nuts." You've doubtless seen some Slate folks wearing "FN" or "Foxtrot November" merch. So, before it was the Slate Truck, it was Friggin Nuts.
Anyway, back to $24,950.
"24", or 2+4, =6
"950" or 9+5+0, =14
The 6th letter of the alphabet is F
The 14th letter of the alphabet is N
FN
