From what I found online, Nissan did this for the first generation Frontier up to 2004. This was over a decade before the backup camera mandate.
The frontier started it generation before last in 2005 and still had radio delete options, mainly on work truck trims. But it was still there. After searching looks like 2019 was the last year they had the delete option

I don’t understand the fetish for AM radio as a safety issue. My first cars had AM only, but when WMMS came on the scene in my hometown of Cleveland OH, I installed an FM converter in my VW bug and never looked back. Since 1971 or so, I’ve only listened to AM for MLB games. I have tried to tune in to the AM frequencies listed on signs along the road, but never got much in the way of useful information. My latest cars don’t have a “radio” in the sense of a AM receiver- they get everything from the internet. Like others have posted, “there’s an app for that”.

CB radios where a factory option on vehicles, some companys have/are fazing out AM radios.

Why four different posts with the same text in three different threads? Forgive me for not understanding your question, can you better explain your point?

Edit: And now two more?

What about frs, murs, cb, ham, frs, gmrs, harris, or sicingar [sic] radios?

SINCGARS? Nobody is getting one of those with the internal guts still intact. Harris is a brand of Radio so what model are we talking about? Might as well bring up the MBITR while you're at it.

FRS/GMRS are an option. I've been thinking it would be fun to have CB, GMRS, and a trunking scanner in the truck. Covers the bases for me.
