I’m thinking of ordering a slate truck. While I know it’s premature does anyone have a feel for the cost of any of the options, like wrapping, power windows, built in speaker? Thanks

I still hope Slate, a few months down the line, dedicates a week per month building vehicles with a standard options package. Because I think there would be demand. And it would be cheaper for everyone than doing it after the sale. And less wasteful.

I get that they want to start by building a single configuration. But it is ecologically wasteful, unless the replaced bits are recovered. And it is less efficient and more costly, because you are buying a window opener twice.

I'm halfway ready to wager that Slate has been watching our online builds, and is reconsidering what they will deliver day one. Because I'll bet the vast majority of buyers are gonna want some creature comforts. And the whole narrative of a $20,000 truck after incentives is long gone - just like the $20,000 Maverick is a distant memory. So sure, deliver an initial run of stripper vehicles. What that demand falters, do a production run of something with more creature comforts.

Have to agree- This is no longer a "20k barebones runner"- it is now much more closely competing with other vehicles in the market. I hope the builds are a bit more comprehensive too. A 3d printed mount for a JBL speaker does not compete with a integrated speaker system and true infotainment. Sell a "audio package" that does it all "out of the box". Still have customization options, but sell a packaged option for those who don't want to DIY electrical on the entire truck.

Wraps are supposed to start at around $500, without installation. I think that is the only option price that has been mentioned. Then there is that website that was posted here somewhere that was showing full wraps for the slate at $500 installed.
Somewhere slate mentioned options pricing sometime early next year.

I am absolutely sure that I know precisely what the options will cost. More than I think they should.

But to get serious, I am hoping Slate eventually offers an onsite accessories shop. Why? So that the recovered parts can be recycled into the production line.

Some of the AI engines (eg. Grok) suggest that the SUV kit will be $5K. I hope it comes in around $3500 since it was announced Slate is still working with suppliers for the most economical options. In any event I hope their “major announcements” are released soon.

Grain of salt....
Most likely pulling repeated figures with no base
