Charging on the road - down the rabbit hole I go

Well, I guess no worries about the charge door. Also, not all ICEVs have fuel door locks. I stand corrected.

Note that some EV’s lock the charge cable in to the charge port. (Teslas do this, Nissan Leafs don’t)This prevents someone from disconnecting the charge cable. At work, before they implemented some charging time limits, I would occasionally have a 2nd shift employee unplug my Leaf so they could plug in their Bolt. Probably singled out my Leaf instead of one of the Tesla’s because of the cable lock feature on the Teslas. I imagine the Slate will not have a cable lock feature.

I’ve been seeing Mach-E parked funny at Tesla charging stations, would it be advisable to have an extension cord

also seen not all Tesla chsrgers work with non Tesla vehicles

a lot to learn to try to limit charge anxiety

I agree with most folks here. Pick up a good quality J-1772 to NACS adapter for ultimate versatility. There are tons of different "standards" out there, but J-1772 and NACS are the most common.

Regarding apps / finding chargers, there are about a bajillion apps that you could potentially use, but I always recommend A Better Route Planner.
