Charging slowly on level 1 at 120 volt seems to be the most healthy for the battery. Fast charging on level 3 seems to cause most wear. How does level 2 effect battery life? Is it more similar to level 1 in the way the battery lasts? I'm talking about long time use, 10+ years from now. If you only charge to 80% every time on level 2, would this do any damage to the battery longevity?

I'm no expert but it's my understanding that level 2 charging is more appropriate for the battery size & capacity than level 1. Think of this like charging any other device like your mobile phone, tablet or computer that uses similar battery technology. Those devices get charged in about an hour or two.

There are several Tesla road warriors Beyond 500K Miles, couple of them have never used anything but a supercharger.. All are above 95% on the battery Live, There is one guy that has 1 million miles on his Tesla and its on its second battery that was put in at about 55K miles.. (I think I got the time and miles right they are mostly U-tubers..)

Generally speaking, Level 2 charging does not stress the battery as much as Level 3. Following the 20-80 rule for both level 2 and 3 on an NMC battery is the best advice for longevity. As long as you maintain your SOC between 20 and 80 percent, your battery pack should remain healthy for 10 years and beyond. For the occasional extended road trip it should be perfectly fine to charge to 100%, but the caveat is not to maintain > 80% state of charge for extended periods of time. That is, start your trip asap when fully charged. Keeping an NMC battery fully charged, and then allowing the vehicle to sit idle is not a good idea. Some degradation, e.g. 10-15% over the life of the vehicle, although unavoidable, is considered completely normal.
