When the Slate was first announced I was rarin' to go. I was planning on dumping my Fit, I had the Element as the out of town car. And all was figured out.

January I had a pipe break that flooded half my house. 5 months later it still isn't all fixed* and has cost me an absolute buttload out of pocket. My Squire's in an RV storage unit outside of town, my Geo's trapped in the middle of a garage full of construction materials, the Element is slowly falling apart in weird places (and still needs an engine swap) and I found that I might not be able to sell the Fit after all, so now it needs a timing belt.

I'll still put my reservation down!!!!

*Farmer's Insurance Claims Agent: Construction people, demo the whole thing down to the studs!
Construction company: Demos it all.
Farmer's Insurance: That agents is no longer with the company, where's half your house?

My Slate will be my new "daily" driver (being retired, I actually drive maybe twice a week max, and that's just into town for errands/trash). I have other cars for other purposes, but honestly most of my driving will be in the Slate.
Same here - retiring this month and looking forward to an EV that is basic and simple.

House has 2 cars already (PHEV and BEV).

My biggest caveat:
If the Slate has 1PD only, then I will change my mind to the new Ford UEV pickup truck coming out later this year......

Had a pipe leak in May. Caught it within an hour, but still had to pull the carpet and replace the pad and drywall. Made me decide to get a home warranty. I’m done self-insuring my 75-year old house.

It has definitely sucked, but at least in my case it happened in the perfect spot and is getting me an entirely new kitchen and laundry/mudroom/garage layout out of it. Insurance is footing most all of it and if I didn't tack on a ton of changes and improvements it would be costing me a fair bit less. Still taking absolute ages though. Two steps forward and one step back each day it seems on them rebuilding it all.

Still 9 days till that announcement......

the caps start at 5 days XD
Why wait?

9 days 6 hours left just doesn’t land the same as ALL CAPS! and way better than a petty argument over grammar and spelling (see above.). Admirable job bringing the discussion back on topic. 👏
also very clever not many people get that
No, you’re clever! And your enthusiasm is infectious!!

Speculation, a skill at which we excel.
6/24 this forum will be filled with many positive comments re the great reveal.
6/25 this forum becomes overwhelmed by the whinings of those that didn’t get what they wanted.
all enthusiastically of course.
