My productivity level at work went way down in the last week of June. The slowdown of new information is actually a good thing for me. Watching newcomers rehash old topics is more nostalgic than annoying to me. Now if I could just get back all of the time I spent arguing with myself about whether or not I needed the extended battery.
Who won the argument? :)

I was leaning towards the standard battery, but still undecided. Now I’m just happily content with 205 miles.

Insufficient. What E90400K, myself and others are asking for are actual measurements like Width, Length, Depth. Square footage means nothing if the shape won't swallow an item you have.

For example, my sewer pipe out of my house has a volume of 33 sq. ft. (my name is tubes, after all). But I can't do anything with that 33 sq. ft. except put sewer water through it.

Are people planning to put something very size specific in the Frunk?

I mean, its a pickup and to me the Frunk is just a bonus space.

Yes. Valuable things.

I personally want to put a Bucket Boss worth of tools in there. Will a 5-gallon bucket with tools sticking up out of the pockets fit? Dimensions would answer that.

Someone else asked if a guitar case would fit. (A: probably not by a longshot)

Since its not a climate controlled space I wouldnt put anything too valuable in there for any prolonged period especially not an instrument.

So I have been a contributing member here since shortly after Slate went wild. I have practically devoured every post, every glimmer of info, until…
yup until 6/24. My preorder secure I find myself being more selective. Whereas I would at least skim a post, searching for any tidbit, now I find myself just letting some things slip by. I know my Slate will not be fully tricked out, there are many accessories I will not own, so interest has waned.

Anyone else noticed how time seems to have slowed tremendously since 6/24?

Am I the only one getting annoyed that someone found the Slate last week and think they have the most important observation / question in the world but too lazy to do a search to reveal dozens of related posts? Just getting older? 😄😄😄
Keep in mind that you are watching the auto-industry in real time. Being a native Detroiter, I have seen the many fails of Chrysler, the secret warranties of GM, and Ford destroying their own successes. Don't forget the the very powerful dealership lobby. In the mid 80s being open on Saturday was controversial. Many dealer lots had to get extra security...broken windows, slashed tires, keyed paint. Slate is now in the center of that war with direct to customer sales, and EVs that need little maintenance. Ask yourself, why would someone go to the effort of posting about a truck they don't want to buy? It's simply a (smear/fear) campaign. Two decades ago I heard rumors of Ford considering using the Ranger platform as a first "toe dip" into EVs...the big guys in the Glass house said no. That would have been my dream truck. Perfect as a everyday commuter, weekend get aways, and projects around the house. So I am still geeked about it (the Slate). We have a Model Y for long trips, this is the perfect second car. I would take it as a bare bones bit at these prices I will have some "want to haves" not "need to haves."

Let's say you have a family member who sometimes uses a wheelchair that is small, lightweight and folds down and collapses into a defined envelope. You occasionally take that person to the doctor. You'd like to know the physical dimensions of the frunk to determine if the collapsed wheelchair will fit in the frunk in the case it is raining and you don't want to carry the wheelchair in the pickup bed.

Who cares what the closed tailgate height is to ground. Pick-up people want to know what the loading height is.(tailgate open)

Do we believe the stock steelies are 17x7? I thought we had concluded 17x8. Isn't 245 a bit wide for 7 inch rims?

When I get mine, I'll measure the frunk and post the results here on the forum. 🤣
Same: I'll race you to it! I think that by January-March, we'll have no shortage of data! Heck, I'll host a livestream and let all the April-June folks post questions in chat on whatever you want measured or metered. But until then, we're stuck with mostly "influencers".

My Bronco rides on a 265/70-17. The steelies on the Bronc are 17 x 7.5. Seems like a 245/65-17 on the Slate steelies at 17 x 7.0 should do fine.

3/4" less wide tire on a 1/2" less wide rim.

Tire-to-rim ratio:
Bronco @ .718
Slate @ .725

Anyone know why the towing capacity would be less for the SUV than for the pick-up? I would have assumed that I could load either up to GVWR - Tongue weight and then add a 2000 lb trailer. For both vehicles at the same weight the SUV is limited to 1824 pound trailer.

Hey frunkies, listen up. I can't give you complete dimension, but I can use some basic understanding of geometry and math to use what has been in multiple videos and statements to help you get a better idea of it's dimensions. They put two standard carry-on luggage side by side into the frunk and it appears to nearly fill it up. Standard luggage is 22" x 14" x 9" (Width x Depth x Length, so Left-to-Right x Bottom-to-Top x Front-to-back). That would make the frunk about 23" x 14-17" x 19" in my best guestimation. In some videos people try to put the luggage along the long edge from front-to-back and it does not quite fit, so the length is probably closer to 21".

There you go. Some tell E90400K since admins do not allow us to see one another because we don't play nice together. Give him another thing to complain about. 🤣😜
