I think my biggest issue is with YouTube and other influencers who suddenly want to act like they know all about Slate when they just discovered it last week and are putting out videos disseminating misinformation...

I don't mind the repeated questions at all, it's the uninformed answers that I have a problem with.

Community - hell ya 🤙, the more the betta.
but some come here, ask a question the has been hashed over and over, but gets answered incorrectly and poof, they leave., whereas had they taken 30 seconds to search, read at least a portion of the responses, then they could maybe have added to discussion to our benefit as well.

To Cargo or not to Cargo - seems to be the question. Contradictory info posted today from Slate re the rollbar. So I asked again and hope we get some clarity.
personally I think it adds credibility to quote a Slate response vs a bare assertion.

The rejection of "founders syndrom" is an important part of Slate's success. Surely uncomfortable, but all adopters are equally important to long term success.

It took Slate from 6/24 til today to answer my question about earlier delivery. When I was re-selecting, I chose trade, square back SUV and move earlier please. And cash.

My productivity level at work went way down in the last week of June. The slowdown of new information is actually a good thing for me. Watching newcomers rehash old topics is more nostalgic than annoying to me. Now if I could just get back all of the time I spent arguing with myself about whether or not I needed the extended battery.

I am a Slate forum noob, and late reservation/preorder guy.
But I'm also OCD afflicted, so whatcha gonna do?

In defense of the newcomers who perhaps don't have automotive background or classic forum/board skills (cuz they're used to "modern social media") - they (we, me?) are excited and want to be a part of an enthusiast community! Asking questions or starting your own thread is about the only way to do this.

If we had trucks "in hand", we'd be busy tinkering in the driveway, or at meetups, or best yet, out driving these silly things. But... until we can do that, all we can do is read, write, view.

Now, where's my damned Truck?
Typically, many automotive forums have evolved into a space for owners to rant and rave, vent, posting problems and endless complaints. And then to seek advice from the community. Just casually scan any posts from the BMW and Mercedes forums to confirm this. You begin to wonder if any “problem free” vehicles out there really exist, judging from the content. It’s been generally said that nobody posts on those forums if they have no problems.

Thankfully, Slate forums is vastly different. Without any real world experience, I wonder how the tone of the forum will change once we get Slates in our driveways. This has always been an informative, helpful, and enthusiastic community. I honestly believe I have obtained more in depth detail from this community than from official sources.

Waiting another year is going to be tough, but this forum will help make the wait more tolerable.

I blame myself. Too much enthusiasm and too few facts.

In the end, you and I will both be there (you five months before me), taking possession of our nearly blank Slate trucks.

Slowing down? Well, sure. Everybody's holding their breath wondering if their wager... er, prediction market contract... on who will be the last forum member in Club DWCS will pay off. 😆

(I'm still in the running if anyone has me on their ticket. 😅)

While you can say people should search for their answers, actually finding what you are looking for with search can be hard. You get every post and reply that mentions the words searched. Browsing the forum categories isn't much good, most of them don't even make much sense to have at the moment when we don't even have the trucks yet.

But can't just ONE of them bring a frickin' tape measure and get the dimensions of the frickin' frunk?

When I get mine, I'll measure the frunk and post the results here on the forum. 🤣

Is anyone here going to the NY event? If so, measurement request, as well as behind seats in truck config photos.
And please ask how the bed is sealed from the cab to prevent water intrusion, and where the bed drains are. Please.

We really need a road show forum section, so each event would have it's own thread, all in one place. Could be archived after the road shows end.
