Cool, happy to see they are coming to Charlotte. I'm curious to see one in person.

As much as I want to see them, I considered driving 10 hours to Nashville. But now that they won't let you sit in them I'm thinking I might as well wait till they start showing actual line produced trucks with the actual plastic panels and almost finalized design. Maybe they'll even let you drive one around a parking lot. ARGGGHH I want my Slate NOW! I'm 67 and feel like I did when I was 12 waiting on my Estes model rockets to arrive in the mail. Pure torture!

Someone needs to tell these guys the roads do run through the Midwest!!

How about Nashville, Bowling Green, Louisville, Lexington?
Maybe they'll park outside the Corvette plant in Bowling Green? I read that Vette sales were down last quarter...

Keep the show location suggestions rolling in but be patient. There's more planning and logistics and permissions to line up than you'd think. They can't be everywhere at once. They may only have a small team and few trucks available to tour right now.

That at least partly tracks with population and where EVs sell, there must be a reason Texas and Florida have been left out. Maybe it's just distance, or maybe some legal/permitting issue.

Enthusiasm toward EVs isn't the important thing to consider.

Slate's CEO says "the EV is the least interesting thing about it", and I agree that being electric isn't the most important aspect of the Truck.

The Truck's innovation lies in its simplicity, customizable design, and affordability.

The Truck is designed to be a bare-bones, two-seat pickup at an affordable price for "workhorse people" who want a small, simple , and reliable small pickup or "statement people" who what a platform for personal expression via user-driven personalization.

Yes I realize that the electric powertrain contributes a lot to "affordability" (low cost-of-ownership). I'm suggesting there will be people will want a Truck despite the electric powertrain, not because of it.

My 93 year old father lives 31 miles from the DC venue. Coincidentally, I'll be up there for the 2nd weekend that they will be on display at DC. Perhaps I can talk him into a trip to take a look.

Breaking into a market that has been resistant to EVs may be more difficult though, even though "EV is the least interesting"
