4) Are there T-rail accessories that allow connection of standard tie-down straps (with hooks on the ends; obviously, the straps wouldn't directly hook to the T-rail)?
I asked this question on Slate chat last week. Answer was no. I asked for this to be added to their internal accessories wish list. The answer was it would be added, so maybe we'll see them before too long.

Lots. Just....lots.
Not having them has never stopped me from adding them before. How would this be any different? If anything, I'd expect the Slate to be even easier....?

Here’s my plan. Use a few of the bolts in the bottom of the bed to attach some d-rings. Done.
Hopefully that won't be too hard to do.
I like the plan, I thought of the same, but I feel like the roll cage mounts are in a very sub-optimal spot. They're inboard of the wheel arches, and all near the middle of the bed. Tie downs in front and back outboard of the wheel arches are way more useful.

What's worse, there's no frame under in the rear corners where they're most critical. Existing ones are 1-8 in burgundy, where I'd want them are numbered 9-12 in blue:

Maybe D-rings could be added low on the uprights behind the side walls?

We asked at the NYC event this past weekend and the person we spoke with said they were planning on having some D-ring tie-downs in the 4 corners of the bed using existing bolt points. He said they don't want people drilling holes to try to add their own. I'm not sure if the D-ring hardware would be standard or an upgrade.

Update: Picks from the event and the bolt points he indicated.

(sorry, the lower bolt point was off the screen, I was taking this image for the gap between tailgate and the bed, which they said there will be some kind of trim or weather stripping there. They just didn't have it on this first round production validation vehicle)

So there's a battery down there somewhere?

Of course, no car manufacturer supports dummies drilling into any part. They assume all owners and mechanics are dummies.

See 8:05 in the video.

They ought to assume many owners and mechanics are dummies at least some of the time. They're not wrong, either. That attitude kind of sucks for those of us who are (at least temporarily) not dummies.

That clip from the video was great. Didn't do great things for my confidence around bed waterproofing, but it was informative!

The bed and frame are designed to drain water. I'm sure the battery is waterproof.
