If Jeffe Bezos has anything to do with it, I'd agree.
Jeff Bezos knows a thing or two about penetration pricing.

Contrary to the impression you get from articles I've seen, I don't think Bezos has much involvement with Slate Auto aside from providing some Series A funding.

Dude is not dumb.

I'm surprised that there isn't a secondary gain for Amazon...short-trip/last-mile/local-only cargo applications for the Slate? Maybe get them for $19K each for stripped models with bed topped with initial order of 20,000 units?

Or buy them and rent them to subK's who are doing that currently with their private vehicles?

A better contest would be to guess the date they open orders!
My guess? July-4-2026
That's a long wait to just open orders...(I gots kids to clothe and feed, and I can’t be held back by some truck-maker’s notion of “ordering dates”!).
July 4 would be rich symbolism though. As long as mine is delivered by Christmas, wrapped and ready?

I'm willing to wait on getting my order in until I find out more about pricing and motor they decide to use, etc. Will help me keep getting the cash together too. The later they push that date back the better, I suppose.

Ah yes…saving the cash for an unknown price tag. Reminds me of my engagement!
