It's the Electrify Expo at the Now Arena in Chicagoland (because they want to be like Cleveland).

The link is safe to browse. Looks like loads of fun for the Electric Vehicle crowd.

An explanation does not make a link safe. If you're on IE6 with an un-patched Windows XP box, you probably can't click anything, if you're clicking based on people telling you about what the link contains you're going to have a bad time.

Is this the same thing as this Electrify Expo?

The latter has the same logo, but doesn't list Chicago on the map. It's associated with the Alameda "Demo Days" expo where Slate will be this weekend:

OP would have done well to do a little cut-n-paste and paste in, which I will do below.

My gut on this is that Slate won't show up because:
a) not listed
b) busy in San Diego.

If they do show up, it will be a helluva surprise. Ya never know.
