Questions about Open Air Kit

Before the launch of the pre-order system, my understanding was that the Open Air kit was part and parcel to the Fast Pack SUV kit. I believe Chris even said this in her Q&A video. However now, if attempting to choose this option in the builder, I am required to choose the Square Back option in order to have the Open Air kit. Do we know if this is the official change? Do we know why? I very much want the fast back kit, and the ability to take the roof off and have the open air aesthetic.

Maker is untrustworthy right now. Hoping they shift focus to it after this initial pre-order period. I suspect some employees are doing double duty, or at least answering questions the agents pass on. A clean maker would stop us from bugging them so much.

I did get ahold of a rep through the chat feature (I forgot it was an option until after I posted here) and she confirmed that yes, the fastback roof can be removed and left open air without any issues. She mentioned that the maker will be getting fixed to reflect this soon.

The way I understand it, the Open Air Kit is an SUV Kit without a shell.

Slate can take notes from Ikea for this. Ikea has a lot of modular furniture systems where they sell all the parts individually and also sell them in complete combinations, and their website is exceptionally well-designed. The Ikea Boaxel system is a good example. On the page for each piece you can see what it goes with, each piece in each color and size has a clear article number, and there's even a "planning tool" for putting together your own combination, exactly like the Slate Maker, but that part is optional and out of the way. Slate should copy this design exactly.

I keep seeing people saying what they are and aren't ordering, like it's anywhere close to time to make a final decision. I expect a lot more details before I decide on basically any accessory. I'm a lot more sure I'll get the truck than any of the accessories, that all have 1 line descriptions.

Yeah, I pretty much need to see a install review before I'll buy it. I want to see how quality it is and if it will get in the way of other things I want to do.
