Never an EREV. But I was interested in the full BEV Terra.Bummer. I was beginning to get excited about the Scout EREV platform.
Whatās the beef with EREV? Just curious as my PHEV works great and EREV *seems* like a good idea when you donāt want to charge on roadtrips? I didnāt enjoy roadtrips with my Lightning bc the charging was too slow and I didnāt like being stuck at Walmart for an hour when away from proper chargers.Never an EREV. It's also for very good reason. The dealers made their bed. It's about time they sleep in it.VW dealers are on the warpath, and they have a point. It's a thinly disguised and very arrogant ruse to cut them out of the profits.
I donāt see the benefit vs drawback value there.Whatās the beef with EREV? Just curious as my PHEV works great and EREV *seems* like a good idea when you donāt want to charge on roadtrips? Itās all good to have leisurely charging stops on road trips until you have multiple little ones that are tired and just want to get there! In those cases, a 6 minute fuel/potty break is priceless. If only rational adults are involved, BEV all the way! We are renting a minivan for spring break bc more space for 6 and luggage. All about convenience and speed of getting them to the destination as quickly as reasonable.I donāt see the benefit vs drawback value there.
I dumped the fuel dependent dinosaur juice machines three years ago and do want to go back.
Having to pump fuel stinks. The engine is noisy and it adds another layer of complexity.
This truck isnāt a road tripper, thatās for sure. But my Lightning is and enjoy the stops so Iām all in all electric.
my wife has the 450e gle and I definitely did not want to buy it. We leased it for as long as there is a warranty. Then we will see how the market looks.Itās all good to have leisurely charging stops on road trips until you have multiple little ones that are tired and just want to get there! BEV are a rhythm of their own. I only fill up on fuel for my x5 every 5-6 weeks, but to your point, Iāll be rid of it two days before the warranty expiresā¦it is more complex and I donāt want to foot the bill for expensive Bavarian repairs.
Yes! We are like minded.my wife has the 450e gle and I definitely did not want to buy it. We leased it for as long as there is a warranty. Then we will see how the market looks.
For roadtrips my ideal is a EREv minivan, or even an erev sprinter style with a bathroom.
For now im going to live with a kia carnival (my parents wont sit in japanese cars) for my family and parents and hopefully a slate for me on a daily basis.
Im considering trading in my tundra now and driving the kia for a year until the slate is out.
