If you zoom in on the pic, you can see the piece of plywood they drilled the rails to.
I believe the screws into the wood, not rails to wood, are going into the bed to secure the plywood to the bed. Are they existing holes? Not sure.
I would have to find a pic of a bed with no mods.

Thanks for the clarification.

I see it now. The rails are bolted to the plywood (painted to match the bed color) And then those upper plywood color bolts are likely located at the bed liner bolt hole locations for this particular show prototype.

Still a good looking setup.

Does anyone know why Slate is leaving those forward pylons black. I keep wishing they would wrap it to match the rest of the upper cab

My pics are taking forever to upload to icloud so I can download and post but they probably don't add much to yours. I'll post just a few.

I was told the bulge in the middle of the spoiler was it just warping from the sun because it's just a 3d printed piece and not final product.

As far as info, all of the Slate representatives were full time employees from all three offices. Most were promotional department.

I didn't get a specific answer to my single-din or double-din question but the rep believed he had seen both at some point and that you could probably do either with an adapter either from slate or aftermarket.

They also couldn't confirm the roll bar isn't included in the cargo topper option.

The white front grille surprised me because I swore it was chrome in the event photo.

They had a lasso game and if you won you got a choice of a slate carry bag or a slate bolo tie. I took the bolo tie.

The one thing I noticed in the photos but didn't in person is the white accent strip between the wheels on the rocker panel. Probably because it was super bright outside.

I'm wondering what their solution for side mirrors is if you want to go al fresco and take the doors off?

I wonder why they do not wrap those lower dark grey panels.

Are they anticipating that much wear and tear in those locations, so wrapping or plasti-dipping will never look good with road damage.
