and this one is the other
Gives me Trabant vibes. Slate, there's still time to make the body panels out of Duroplast!

Why not a Slatino, like an El Camino?
(I tried generating this in AI, but it just kept coming out looking like a Ford F100 truck)

We had a RAV42 door back in the day. Loved that car. If ours had been a convertible, we would have never sold it. Yes, they actually sold a RAV4 two door convertible. Only for a few years. Very rare. Very choppy ride on that short wheelbase, but AWD and a manual transmission.

I think a 1990 VW Scirocco has the right style lines for a Slate coupe.

I have to agree. I had an '81 Scirocco, the prior generation. A coupe utility hatch sounds great to me. You could even s-can the back seat like the CRX I had after the VW.
I agree with @Adam W and @TomFrank .
As soon as I saw @ryan759 's first image, I was thinking he's very close to the first generation VW Scirocco of the 1970s and 1980s. I imagine someone third party aftermarket shop could create the panels and rear hatchback to fit over or onto the current Slate "Open Air" configuration's seat and roll bars.

Nicely done @ryan759

You did a really great job! Thank you! Somebody please take my money for the Slate-mino!
Honestly- my heart has been set on a 79 Subaru brat. If I can design panels that achieve that look, look for some future slate content 😂
