In my opinion, if trumps plan is adopted as written and the EV incentive goes away, Slate will lose half the reservations they have. I hope the Slate team has some lobbyistsI just got a reply asking about the federal incentives and this is slate auto’s response I feel at ease a bit and I think the price they are referring to is the $25,000 I believe so still a good deal in my eyes then again I did customize mine all out so XD we will see.
WA state currently has a sales tax exemption, but it expires at the end of July of this year and I haven't seen anything about extending it. So not a reduction in purchase price, but that would help on the final out-the-door price.
Washington tax revenue is currently way under spending. Running this deficit, I doubt the state will extend the exemption.
Where are you getting $5K road tax? I have had my Tesla registered in Utah for four years now, and it's like $330/year for road tax. I completely concur with paying a road tax, since I don't pay for gas, and I'm also using the same roads as everyone else.
Your state may vary; in Utah, my wife's registration for an ICE Jeep is WAAAAYYY lower than my registration for my Tesla. That's where the state is making up for me not paying for gasoline.

I’m thinking (hoping) that initially it is a transportaion/delivery issue. Will cost me about $2500 for trans from Ca to Hilo.. not sure if LA or SD as there are EV restrictions.
"Near you" is relative, but yes, that's the idea. I've said it already on these forums, but given the Bezos contribution to this effort, I can't imagine they haven't at least considered the idea of having pick ups near/at Amazon fulfillment centers.
That would be awesome, even if just to the Honolulu center.
No delivery to AK or HI for now.
