The language below the highlighted section (see below highlighted in green) seems to say that vehicles placed in service after 12/31/25 will still be considered clean if the manufacturer has not made over 200K by 12/31/25. Slate meets this criteria.

Am I reading this correctly?
Yes. That is my understanding as well. Unfortunately it will expire at the end of 2026, so leaves a small window to get delivery of a Slate. If there is any slippage of production timeline we may miss out.

Depends on how "creative" they are with their initial sales.

has an extra $50 charge for registration above and beyond the normal registration. So effectively Hawaii is anti-EV, who knew
At $50/year you are probbably paying about half of what the gas tax would be for your milage. So naw, Hawaii is slightly pro-EV in that way...

Plus they only plan on 150,000 for the first run being 50,000 under so we will see

Would be nice if by 12/31/26 and 1 is mine.
lol I bet I wish they would tell us the regular customs and the fleet customers though so we could get a better understanding of the market was it a 100,000 regulars or fleet lol I’m wondering just how many regular people put the 50$ down

Guessing maybe a better margin with us regular customers, so maybe slight preference.

I would have never told you two days ago that the bill had a chance to die in the senate and we'd get to keep the EV credit... but after everything going on in the WhiteHouse maybe the bill might die and we'll keep the EV credit hope going for a little while longer if they end up gutting the bill.
