SLATE Make and Model name?

Internally they called it FN1 for “Freaking Nuts 1” since that’s how awesome they thought the truck was. Showing that for the leadership which almost all are auto executive veterans or at the very least car guys, this is a true passion project for them.

But yeah the closest thing is the “Blank Slate” or “Slate Truck” for a model name. Don’t hate it with every single identifiable feature easily removable having the brand and model name be the same helps mitigate any loss to brand awareness from a marketing perspective. It’s also easily usable for other models like the Slate Car, Slate Van, Slate Cross, Slate Truck XL, etc

So, the "BS" for short?

Poking around some old videos looking for other information, a very early video of a Top Gear member walking around their design studio shows a sign referring to the truck as a Slate SKU01 vehicle. I'm sure a very early development name, but a fun tidbit nonetheless.

I saw in one of the Videos the Rep said they did not want to name the truck, in fact they wanted you to be able to remove the Slate branding if you want and name it anything. As they say we build it, you make it.
