Thinking about the All Terrain Tire, appears the lift is necessary? Otherwise no. Don't want to put too much $$$ into this. It will be mostly for hauling random stuff from the nursery, hardware store, or to the dump.

I would think it would matter completely about what tires you chose. If your use case is only utilitarian, you can make do with something that isn't so prominent.

If you are vane (like me), you'll opt for the lift so as to have an excuse to get running boards!

The size of the tire, not its type, determines whether a lift is required or not.

You can get All-Terrain tires is the stock size, or a size just slightly larger, and not need the Lift Kit.

was thinking maybe running boards at later date, regular heigh, if beneficial for wife. Had them on my Ridgeline, have them on Tundra.

I want to see it in person before getting running boards. It may just be low enough stock that getting into it is no problem, even for elderly relatives.

Take it for what it's worth, but the stock height definitely doesn't need running boards in my opinion. I'm 6'3", so maybe that affects things, but at stock height I was able to sit down into the driver's seat just from a flat footing.
