FWIW, the CrossClimate2 has been superseded by the CrossClimate3.

It's quite a flex for Michelin to do that. According to a review I watched (or read, it's been a while) they improved upon the CC2 in every category other than a trivial drop in Rolling Resistance.

Edit: There's also a new CrossClimate3 Sport.

That's some good info, thanks AZ. The Cross Climate line has been on my radar for a while, both for our ID.4 and the Slate Truck that I hope ends up in our driveway

245/70R17 will undoubtedly be a popular choice for the Truck. It's same width as the stock 17" tire, but taller by one inch.

This size hits a sweet spot for a few of reasons.
- 1/.2" of extra radius is unlikely to require a lift.
- Some tire choices in this size aren't especially heavy.
- On-road compromises will be relatively low.

+1" size (stock 245/65R17 plus an inch in diameter)
245/70R17 (30.5"x9.6") - Speedo Error: 51.7 @ 50mph (3.4%)

BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2: 46.9 lbs, 30.5" (E)
BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3: 47 lbs, 30.5" (E)
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W: 39.9 lbs, 30.6" (Extra Load)
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W: 48.3 lbs, 30.8" (E)
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W: 40.9 lbs, 30.6" (Extra Load)
Falken Wildpeak A/T4W: 48.1 lbs, 30.8" (E)
Toyo Open Country A/T III: 37 lbs, 30.6" (Extra Load)
Toyo Open Country A/T III: 44 lbs, 30.6" (E)

Heaviest tire: 48.3 lbs
Lightest tire: 37 lbs (11.3 lbs lighter)

Goodyear has two unusual choices in 245/70R17, a Standard Load Mud Tire and a Standard Load All-Terrain tire with road manners and high resistance to damage:
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac: 39 lbs, 30.6" (Standard Load)
Goodyear Wrangler Adventure with Kevlar: 37 lbs, 30.6" (Standard Load)

The damage-resistant Goodyear tire is intriguing because I don't plan on carrying a spare.

The Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar trades away some aggressive appearance for some on-road quietness, comfort and handling characteristics. To me its looks are aggressive enough. It looks like a proper truck tire as opposed to an all-season car tire.

Blurb:
The Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with Kevlar delivers on-road comfort with off-road toughness. A spiral-wrap layer of DuPont™ Kevlar® fiber reinforces the tire for durability, puncture resistance, and structural integrity. The Durawall™ sidewalls are reinforced with a polyester body cord and specialized rubber compounds that resist chipping, cracking, and tearing.

For snow people the (heavy) Load Range E version of the tire is 3PMSF-rated but the Standard Load version isn't. That's strange, because the tread should be about the same.

This tire has been made for a decade or so (since 2013?) and they are -- or at least have been -- an OEM tire for some pickup models (e.g. Tacoma, F-150).

Slate displayed a Truck with 265/70R17 tires on wider-than-stock aftermarket wheels. The stock wheels won't be the ideal width for this size, but it'll fit.
