Here's a thought, though. If Donut really did do it, conventional batteries will fall sharply in value. This could give us a cheaper Slate, as current tech is sold at fire-sale prices. Legacy manufacturers will line up to buy a license for it.

If that were true the legacy makers would already be trying to buy the company. After all they hold no patents, so nothing to buy there and so far the big boys have shown no interest, indicating that they are skeptical as well and they already spend billions on R&D so it's unlikely that a small startup has found what they did'nt.
If I were part of EVE or CATL I'd wait until they actually release a product, buy it, tear it to pieces and if it's real copy it. Remember they have no patent protection so it would be a free for all.

After watching all the various battery "expert" youtubers I've settled on 2 bit Davinci as the one I enjoy the most. He is convinced it is indeed a solid state battery, but that is all we really know. He explains here after test 5.

When/if the battery is released for sale it will be torn open and the truth will be revealed within hours of the release.
Looking forward to it, but not holding my breath.

I just ran a search for Verge motorcycle dealerships and got this.

The second address is a restaurant/tattoo parlor/ barbershop where they do have some motorcycles on display, but none appear to be for sale just clothing, and again no mention of Verge.
