Well just think of the poor Cybertruck reservation holders and the long wait they had for production after the initial announcement. That and then the product they got was no where near what was promised and it came with a ultra inflated price.
I just hope Slate learned from Tesla’s mistakes and we get the product we were promised or something even better.

This is probably going to be the slowest time of the Slate timeline. They're still finalizing the prototype and anything they show isn't gonna be the final result so they can't reveal too much. In a few months from now once they get it 100% figured out, I bet we'll start seeing Slate University posts, more in-depth specs and details, and much more. Just one of the downsides of being the earliest of early adopters!
Not to mention they are fundraising now, which they are at least in a good spot for with people knowing big fish are backing them, how quickly their social media is growing, and how many reservations they have. But it’s still an important period since they are quickly and actively hiring more and more people and are already spending $400 out of the $700 million they raised getting the factory ready for production.

Or the Rivian owners
How I endure.
1.) Take the $$$ for my Slate and put it in a CD, use the few bucks I make for a wrap, etc.
2.) Get my old car ready for sale, use the $$$ for extra goodies.
3.) Play with the maker...again.
Sigh, yes, I went through the same thing with my Model 3 waiting for production to ramp up. The next year will be make or break time for them. So far the one that came the closest was Arcimoto from the post Tesla startups. The CEO made some very bad decisions in his personal and corporate life.
I am waiting to see how much changes from the beta version to the production model...main interest will be power access points, both DC and AC. Final seat styles and comfort. Changes to the bed, secure points, pass thru, rear window options. When I measured the beta bed, I was pleased I could use the tool box I already have.
Luckily Slate has raised much more money than Arcimoto ever did and on a much quicker timeline. Plus their leadership are all automotive executives vets. They know how to bring a product to market.

You nailed it! I think what we’re all experiencing is the reality of the “ownership lifecycle”- excitement, research, planning, waiting, anticipation, and finally taking delivery. Year(s) of impatiently waiting, second guessing, comparing, and evaluating our decisions.

And suddenly Slate advises your reservation is called, order generated, and you take delivery. And it’s all over in a few days, and sometimes ‘anticlimactic’ to an extent.

Hopefully “buyers remorse” doesn’t spoil what should be a pleasant experience. Stay positive!
When Slate eventually releases their 2nd Model (my prediction is an 20K Slate Coupe that re-uses a lot of the parts of the Slate Truck) I hope they keep it a secret and then release it at the end of the year (I’m a very strong optimist/dreamer lol).

I hope they keep the public posted on the progress of their factory, at least the locals for upcoming job creation. They worked on two massive factories in my town for years but didn't make a big media spectacle out of it until only recently.

Unrelated, but I was endlessly scrolling my instagram reels earlier this week when I hit a rally video. I was like "wait a minute I recognize that icon of the boxer on a green background." The Slate reels confirmed it! I gave you a follow, keep the Slate reels comin!

If you're complaining about the lack of updates, you should see the official Scout Motors forum. It's a field of crickets over there.
