So that begs the question, is there a clock readout on the gauge cluster?
What made you think there was a gauge cluster?
There is a small 1 piece screen that will show speed and charge state, odometer, whatever else is actually necessary. I wouldn't call that a cluster. Not sure what else would go on that list for an EV. Clock on that hasn't been mentioned.

What gauges? Generally instrument cluster is an actual cluster of analog dials, or dials pretending to be analog, or LCDs pretending to be dials. Slate has as far as we know, a single screen, the size of a phone screen, that switches between backup camera and digital speedometer. I'm assuming somewhere in the corners it shows battery %, range, and odometer.
Slate is probably calling the dash screen.

The claim of "no constant power provided" was presumably referring to the accessory power outlets in the area where you would mount a traditional head unit. The truck has a 12v battery.
I get that, it just seems like an odd decision. Although these days not many people are needing cig lighters when the car's off, having 12V constant accessory power has been great for charging things when the car's off for extended periods at shows and car meets. I'll run one myself if I have to, just seems like an oversight.

One of the mods I did in the Element was to bypass the ACC relay to keep constant 12V to the accessory port in the rear when the E's off.

I wonder if the 12v plug in the frunk will be powered with the truck off?

That'll be interesting to see, I'd expect them to keep that one on all the time for tailgating. Also dawned on me whenever I'd help install dashcams and do a 'full' install with parking mode and such it wanted a constant 12V at the dashboard for it, so there's another use case.

Lots of ICE cars in recent decades turn off the 12v plug when the car is off. Haven't figured out what the list of makes is that do it which way though.

I just bought a new motorcycle that has just a big "TFT" Screen. Everyone calls it the TFT screen, even the manufacturer of the bike. TFT... transistor technology put into practice in the early 1970's. Like it's some big deal. LOL.

But the TFT is where the motorcycle shows the basics: RPM, speed, odometer, outside temp, and fuel level. The screen can be split into two sections to show the basics, plus other status of the motorcycle's operating systems, such as fuel consumption, coolant temp, tire pressure, trip odometer(s), etc. It really has too much information to be honest.

A gauge reports operational data, so the Slate's screen, like my new scooter, is a screen where the various gauges are clustered together to report data, hence a gauge cluster. I'm not sure what "round" and "analog" (or pretending to be analog) has to do with it. I'd have a hard time deciphering the ones-and-zeros for each step in RPM, but that's me. A cyborg I'm not.
