That's pretty sweet!I bought this little car play screen from Amazon that was suggested by someone on this forum, and I’m pretty amazed how well it works for under 50 bucks. This is not a high end solution and a good double Din would be much better but it does work pretty well.

Kinda like many of them. And the extra rear-facing backup camera on that little Amazon screen can be useful if you're hauling goods with the tailgate down.
With the Slate's tailgate mounted backup camera, it will be not usable in that configuration.... unless you want to see what or who you just ran over. 🧛‍♀️
Safely? No, absolutely not, but that's true of using any touchscreen. You're a safer driver while driving drunk than you are while operating a touchscreen. That's why many countries with functional regulatory bodies are mandating that critical functions in vehicles need to be operated by physical buttons.Just thinking out loud about this. Does anyone really think they can safely interact with a docked phone at arm's length while driving? Say you're using for phone for maps / navigation. The small screen and buttons which are located below your line of sight with the road will likely be a challenge. Those who wear glasses for distance may find it difficult to focus on smaller items such as the phone screen approximately 2 feet away, down and to the right of the driver.
The larger sized tablet will definitely be required for things like navigation and media. Hopefully, navigating the Slate app will be seamless using the steering wheel mounted Bluetooth buttons.
