Wheel size changes - updating in app?

Has anyone seen info if we will be able to change the wheel size in the app, on board settings within the odometer or will it need to go to the service center for an update? I am thinking of grabbing the 17 stock wheels and get my own 20s

I don't know what you know, you may already know this information, but this response is my interpretation of your question....

Simply, you try to stay with the same overall diameter by adjusting tire size for the 20s so the stock data/performance remains relevant. Less hassle too switching between. I think all manufacturers stick to this principle when rim sizing varies between trim levels.

Stock tire size is 245/65/17 which is 29.5 inches. Rim 17", tire height at each end 6.29".

An easy example, you get a new 20" diameter rim with the same width as the stock wheel so you have two numbers figured out, 245/x/20.

An online calculator makes aspect ratio guesses easy and the new tire size should be 245/50/20. Tire height on each side 4.82".

Unsprung weight may be harder to evaluate. Pros and Cons to making the new set lighter or heavier?? Lighter probably applies also to EVs/regen.

Tire grip is another consideration.

Personally, lighter aftermarket 17" wheels with "similar width and offset," and reuse the tires as my first learning experience with an EV.

There’s been talk about the necessity for an update via the app or otherwise since a significantly taller tire is offered as an option. The A/T tire Slate is offering for the 17” wheel is 49mm/2” taller than stock.

We'd imagine that would be possible, but honestly we don't have confirmation on the specifics of speedometer calibration for different tire sizes just yet. We don't want to give you a definitive yes without being sure.

I can't wait until these start appearing. Then we will get all of the stats that matter to owners who want to mod or maintain the truck. Wheel Lug Pattern/Sz, Rim Offset, Wiper Blade Lengths, Head/Tail/Interior bulbs...... That kind of stuff. I'm holding off on wheel tire things until I can choose from known aftermarket wheels that will fit.

If the programmers of my ebike's tiny firmware can include accommodations for Tire Diameter I imagine Slate will be able to figure out a way to do that as well.

IMHO it seems like something that should be included.
