Wrapping for plastic fade protection

I wonder if the slate gray Slates will see a lot of fading and UV damage if they are out in the sun a lot. If yes, then a wrap could be considered SPF 100 sun screen for your exposed plastic.

That’s a good point, and possible, but I would think it would take several years and be an extremely slow progression of fading if at all. Think about plastic trash cans/recycling bins being left out 24/7. They hold up just fine in general.

i would think Slate would have an idea.
back when I did coatings R&D i had a turntable cabinet with UV lamps to simulate longterm UV degradation. There are also programs that test real time. Turntable speed, temperature, intensity would give me good quick tests.

I do wonder what else could be applied to it, kinda like a wax or polish type deal for this material cause I like the way it looks without any wraps

Apparently the body panels have a matte finish that's not supposed to stay looking factory-fresh.

Protective wrap is a good question that begs other questions.

Depends on the quality of the plastic I know some that will not fade but may dull
