Some interesting facts/details (posted by @cadblu):

Here are ten interesting details I discovered in this excellent video…
  1. Appears you can have both your iPad as a central display AND a dock for your phone.
    1. The seats look reasonably comfortable.
    2. The body panels have a bit of flex to ward off dings from shopping carts and car doors of vehicles parked too close. Reminds me of those old Saturns…
    3. The ability to easily swap out headlight bezels, grill covers, and other front trims that can get damaged from road debris ensures your Slate will always look good
    4. I like that hard tonneau cover!
    5. Appears the flip up dash panels have a magnetic closure. I heard a distinctive snap while closing.
    6. The option to have only driver side power window controls.
    7. The base steel wheels look great, but even better with more rugged off-road tires.
    8. The interior design and materials look decent. Jack even suggests that plastic panels may be improved in the production version.
    9. The Slate appears very solid and well put together! Can’t wait to see it in person.

“Huge amount of 3D printing in the background.” Hence the inspiration for my username (hint). Was running 3D printers non stop during FSD (full scale development) back in the day. That’s how Slate has shrunk their development time. Now the challenge is to line up their supply chain with dual sourcing as a risk reduction strategy while the factory comes together. Exciting times at Slate Auto!

This is the first time I've seen someone open the tailgate. Looks like it has some heft to it, which is nice. It sounds more solid than I've been imagining. I have yet to see anyone open and close the doors to see the kind of "thunk" they make though.

When are we getting driving impressions? Have to admit this video was disappointing in that regard.

Loved this vid and of course all things Top Gear. Not a lot of new learnings, but always good to get a fresh perspective on the concept. That mint green Slate Cargo looks clean.

I’m guessing the flip up dash panels are perforated enough to allow speaker sound through without muffling. Probably a fabric material.

2 2024 Mavericks.
I'm wanting a golf cart that'll go 55mph for work. 200 miles a day and can be plugged in at home and on the job. I want the SUV square back without seats in the back just a flat platform for tools. For less than $25,000

You want the Cargo Kit and extended battery. Me too. Although I’ll add a custom wrap, lift, and AT tires.
