I don't think anyone officially has posted they have no cash and can't feed the employees and can only stuff them in ratty hotels. I'm sure they are budget conscience but they have a marketing budget and they need to get the word out if they want to have a chance to survive. You can do all the free you want but if only 6 people notice it is it really worth the effort? Not really.

I can't really say how many models they have available but it's at least 6 based on how often they show up in various configs at the same time. They have enough to show but maybe not necessarily to drive.

Big car shows have everything. ... 8000 cars in the show and a couple hundred thousand visitors expected over the weekend.

With 8000 cars, how much time is anyone spending at any one booth? I'm looking forward to the Seattle event next week. If it were at a car show, with an entrance fee, and thousands of people milling about, I wouldn't bother. Considering I'd only be interested in seeing 1/8000th of the show.

Mid 90’s Apple had something of an ambassador program. I forget the details, but basically a non paid person (me) would show up a couple of hours Saturday and Sunday at a retail location, Sears I think was one. We got a Tee or 2, ball cap, some free software, some trinkets like key chains, stickers, etc to hand out. I recall doing for a few months. No sales just demo the free software and answer questions. Find a sales associate if appropriate. It was fun.

Now come early production, they can ship my Slate and borrow it for a short period for show and tell. Still have rooms from VRBO days and we can work a trade.

Yes! its called eyeballs, the kids climb all over it, talk about it incessantly to the entire school, and put it into their doodles.
The parents of course "discuss it rationally", hmm, never in any car-buying decision in my family.
