I do hope Slate can incorporate some interior color palette's for different seat cover colors, or vendors to help with interior customization.

Also hope are ordered bypanel. I would like my rear and tailgate too match the bottom color.
They do have Black and Brown seat covers besides the default in the Maker app.

I was actually curious about how Slate's unique share code works and attempt to decode it. I consulted an AI model to help crack the code. Finally, an AI response that is useful and we can all agree upon.

1️⃣ First Character — Body Style
This one is the most consistent and easiest to decode.

Code LetterMeaningEvidence

XSUV Kit (variant)X2TE8Q, X6ZQRC
RPickupRZXECV
LPickupLL2RBL
FPickupFF1VGC
JSUV Kit (newer model year)JRUWSY

Rule: Z/X/J = SUV R/L/F = Pickup

2️⃣ Second Character — Exterior Package Level
This encodes how complex or loaded the exterior is.

CodeExterior MeaningEvidence

Rule: Higher complexity → higher “intensity” letter/number.

3️⃣ Middle Characters (2–3 chars) — Wheels, Lift, Tires, Lighting
These characters encode chassis‑related choices.

Rule: Numbers usually indicate lift or wheel size. Letters indicate tire type, lighting, or accents.

4️⃣ Last 1–2 Characters — Interior Theme + Tech Loadout
This is where interior color, accents, and tech level are encoded.

It's clearly missing context as all AI are, considering the (newer model year) doesn't apply here I don't think. Maybe there's a method to it but I always assumed its random. I will say, there is still more codes out there that don't fit this or at least, not the first letter.

Well done. I stumbled on some data that contains non-released stuff. Hence some of the build configs just say an accessory ID because they are not named yet. I emailed Slate. No responses yet. Not sure if I should post or not.

Yeah i feel like the Share codes are just random. The ID for the base truck is TB009. The SUV and Fastback are the same with a hyphen. TB009-Fastback and TB009-SUV

For sports teams, wraps to match the team are easy. Just do different parts of the wrap in the team colors for a somewhat subtle look without the team name, and if you want to go further add decals with the team name, logo, mascot, player's jersey number, player's image, however far you want to go.

I remember seeing an image with every Super Bowl winner represented by a slate truck wrapped in the teams color. As a Packer fan I remember seeing the first two trucks being yellow on top and green on bottom.

Are there any trademark issues if some baseball fanatic decides to use an unofficial MLB team logo decal on their Slate, say LA Dodgers or NY Yankees? Any trademark lawyers out there care to weigh in?

What purpose would a single roof rack tower serve?

Well, my idea was that Slate would work out licensing with the leagues.

It probably comes down to making money on it. If you make it for yourself, for personal use, shouldn't be a problem as long as there isn't the threat of it looking like it's a team vehicle or something.
Someone making and selling decals or anything, will likely be a legal problem.
Grocery store bakeries have signs that they can't put characters and such on cakes.

Slate getting a license from a team would probably cost far more than they could ever make on it.
