I am feeling like Slata Clause will give way to Slata Bunny (Easter, 2027), if we are being realistic.I listen to the weekly Tesla/EV podcast titled ‘Ride the Lightning’. Last Sunday’s episode was the annual prediction episode where the host, Ryan McCaffrey, makes his annual predictions on what EV milestones will or won’t be hit in the coming year. Disappointedly, he is predicting no customer deliveries of Slate in 2026.
If you’re not an early reservation holder it’s likely 2027 for you.Counting early runs In small numbers.
That is an early reservation holder (in the first three hour here) and in the ‘Region’ selected for early deliveries. Slate Auto has not indicated how the Regions will be designated. If you’re not an early reservation holder it’s likely 2027 for you.
Straight truck would seem to indicate earlier early delivery, I’m speculating. They want to get some units out there…free advertising is seeing Slates in civilian hands. My $.02I'm a day one reservation holder, and within 500 miles of the factory. I have the highest likelihood of getting an early delivery. When do I think the deliveries will actually start? Let's just say I won't be pre-buying snow tires.
Yup, my 80th BD present.I told them that I was looking forward to my Slate being delivered for my birthday. And the very nice people I talked to at the in person events didn't seem to want to disappoint anyone. So... 🥳
Yes, as Slate keeps reminding us, bring your own tech. And it appears you have the very latest. 👍Or maybe they are to remind me of my iPhone. 😆![]()
Not nice to tease an 80-year old!Yup, my 80th BD present.
Straight truck is all they are making. Choice of 2 battery options. I suppose if battery cells are a bottleneck they may start with standard batteries, if at the time they are manufacturing they basically have a glut of cells, they go the opposite way. So that could be 50/50 whether one choice gets delivered quicker.Straight truck would seem to indicate earlier early delivery, I’m speculating. Well yes. I was thinking about trucks that weren’t lifted, lowered, had AT tires, spares, or anything modified at all. Won’t those basic mods happen at factory? I understand the rest of mods could happen 3rd party. I might misunderstand the MO some.Straight truck is all they are making. Choice of 2 battery options. Even the SUV kit is a kit. Probably will ship separate from the truck even if it's being shipped to a local shop to be assembled before you pick up the truck.
Distance from the factory might not be a factor the way you think, with some states not allowing direct sales, and other states likely having a lot of day 1 reservations. First deliveries could well go to California, Florida, Texas.
