Door panels

Just captured this close up of the door panel card. Some observations:

1. It's not clear why anyone would want to spec a white or light-colored fabric for the doors. Especially if this is marketed as a work truck.

2. From an ergonomics standpoint, the power window switch is a bit obtrusive and might easily become a knee banger, especially with those sharp corners. It's also a bit of a reach compared to where the switch is usually located (typically on / near the armrest in most vehicles). I think I prefer the crank.

3. There looks to be a replaceable "kick panel" on the lower panel. This is actually a good idea as it can be changed out in the future.

I'm not impressed, but I'm still hooked on Slate.
I will stay with the plain door and window crank. The top of the door will be my armrest.

I would rather have a storage bin than that tacked on armrest thing.

I just noticed the extra two slots for buttons as part of the door open component. A third one is filled with door lock and door unlock buttons. Perhaps one will be for electric window buttons?

It’s marketed as a work truck? It’s an option to use this as a work truck. The same way that it’s an option to have those areas in other colors.

Nice catch! It’s possible that one slot will be designated for the driver and the second for the passenger window. Those switches are not showing up with standard crank handles so this appears to be correct.

That's one of my intentions. Back when I worked with the engineers from A/D/S on a side project we had a OEM design that worked incredibly well but was impossible to vacuum form or injection mold because of the complex shape. But it can be 3D printed. The patents are expired and I'm the only one still living that knows the math.
I want to sell complete pre printed kits and partial print yourself kits.
