The top-down size of the Slate is what sold me on it… it is 0.6 inches shorter in length and only a few inches wider than my current car, a 2008 Prius. I love the small dimensions that make it easy to whip around town, easier to park, all that jazz. I drive Chevy trucks at work, and even a Colorado (full cab, full bed) is gratingly large for me.

I hope being Prius-sized isn’t a turnoff for people… :lipssealed:

Slate is a gamble, but a good one. It does fill a niche between a smaller quad cab and a side by side/golf cart. How big is that niche? That is the question. Will it please everybody? No. The big truck guys (and gals) will not like it. But this has the potential to surprise. I was impressed with the Cybertruck and was ready to get one...that was the first year, the delays, the features disappeared, then by year 3 disappointment. The seeing it in person...I said "No". Seeing the Slate in person had almost the opposite effect. I came away saying "I want one!"

I drive a crewmax tundra. A few months ago I hit a curb making a right turn and got a flat tire. This is after 15 years of driving it. Narrow streets are a pain.

My wife wont even drive it, so if her car has an issue I have to drive her around instead of her just taking my car.

I 100% need a smaller truck. I could keep the tundra and just get a smaller SUV style ev which Im looking to do this weekend (very good deals on chevy blazer evs). The deals are 2 year leases which include the EV credit, so maybe the slate will be in production when the blazer lease ends.

I think my ideal is a slate for daily driving and an EREV minivan for taking my parents with us to eat, kids and their friends around town, and for road trips.

Last night my daughter and friends went to a football game. In the past I could have picked them all up in the old minivan (now totaled) but now I could only pick up 4 of them in a standard SUV.
