Not really odd, they've started in the northwest & northeast and are working their way down and around. They'll get to the southern states soon enough, and it'll be when the weather is much nicer for outdoor events. By then it'll be rain/snow in the north anyway.

That website's data is several quarters out of date.
California (as of May 2025), has 1.7 million EVs, and 522k PHEVs. - https://www.energy.ca.gov/data-repo...e-and-infrastructure-statistics/new-zev-sales
As of July 22, 2025, Texas has 328,087 EVs, plus 67,072 PHEVs. - https://www.dfwcleancities.org/evsintexas
Florida's update is from last September, 254,878 EVs, plus 58,690 PHEVs - I'd say check CleanEnergy.org, but you would be lucky if the southern states do any updating of statistics.

Can confirm, can't go outside right now- East Texas
