Random Friday fun poll, how old were you when you got your first car with power windows?
For me I was about 32, and it was my 5th personal car. And all but my Ranger after that have had power windows. Also random it was a PT cruiser and the power window buttons were on the dash between the driver and passenger.

I inherited a car with power windows in my early 30s. On the only new car I’ve ever purchased (2014 Tacoma) I ordered and waited 4 months to get the base version with crank windows, 2 doors, manual transmission, and a bench seat. The only upgrade I opted for was a sliding rear window. I hope that option becomes available somewhere down line for my Slate.

My 2008 Prius is the only car I’ve ever had with power windows. Only new car I’ve ever bought, or ever planned to buy…until I saw the Slate. Every other car or truck I’ve had was from the 70’s.

Well, I had a car without power winows then installed power windows in it when I was 20 or so. But didn't buy a car that came with power widows til I was about 26.

A/C on the other hand...

28 years old in 1977 was my first vehicle with power windows. Before then:

1949-1967: no licensed vehicles owned
1968: 1962 Corvair gift when graduating from High School.
1971: 1971 Kawasaki H1 (quickest street motorcycle in the world) - no windows at all
1971: 1971 BMW R75 - no windows at all
1973: 1973 Kawasaki H2 - no windows at all
1973: 1973 Dodge Tradesman Van
1974: 1974 Chevrolet K10 Scottsdale - that and all future vehicles co-owned with my current wife.

I realize only the 1962 above is a "car" but figure if trucks were left out by accident maybe other types of vehicles were also. :)

1977: 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale - my first vehicle with power windows. Every vehicle with windows after that were also power. Not that it was a must have. You just couldn't get other options without a package that included power windows.

Lol, I used car for brevity as it's a fairly long title. That's a great history!

I installed power windows on my Ranger but have been pondering going back, I can reach the other side fairly easy, and even have the sliding rear window for more breeze, but also have AC anyways so really don't need to lower the passenger window much.

First car was only one year younger than me, a 1988 Dodge Dakota. No working AC and I live in the south so those crank windows got a lot of use. When I went to college my parents thought the old truck wouldn't make it so I got handed down a Grand Cherokee with fancy powered windows! Had to replace the damn regulator three times, I was glad for the O'Reilley's lifetime warranty for sure. That experience may be why I'm fully on board with Slate's decision, heh

I was 40 and it was a Jeep Cherokee Sport, my 16th (out of 25 so far) vehicle. Damn I’ve had a lot of cars.
Don't judge yourself too harshly, my wife and I are at about 22 combined over the years so far, about 15 of those since we've been together. Still figuring out the perfect combo lol.
