Poll - What are you budgeting for Slate accessories?

I'll get the larger battery but that's it.

Everything else I want will be homebrew.

I haven't looked at the Maker for a while, so maybe something else?

I want to add accessories that make it look like something this, when I’m all done. Full roof rack, rear tire carrier with Slate logo, roof access ladder, lift kit, all terrain tires, aggressive wheels, fender flares, rounded tail lamps, black wrap, and tinted glass all around. And no tailpipe 🙂. Basically a Grenadier look alike for less than $40K.

lol nice I love the grenadiers but they are to expensive for my blood and I’d planning the same but debating ether ww2 jeep or cyberpunk 2077 vibes

I have my ideal with all the stuff I want but also some others in the maker one being just the base model then one with minor upgrades like the bumpers and tires with the spare so I have a good spread sheet of seeing the price difference between basically one with everything, a somewhat middle ground modification, and just the base.

Ordering a blank slate to start with. Then I'll order a wrap kit and a couple of interior add-ons. Eventually I want to add on the fastback SUV kit. Love that the fastback can convert to the open air SUV as well. Super excited

For my build I'll lean into the fun-to-drive factor.

A few accessories:
Door Cubbies and Rubber Floor Mats
Front and Rear Light Upgrades if they improve visibility
Fog Lights if they're white and make road imperfections more visible.
Lowering Kit to only lower the rear a.k.a. a Leveling Kit

Some DIY mods:
Replace the wimpy Meep Meep Horn with something better.
Possibly apply some sound-deadening material in a few places.
Paint the cab ("black top" style) with bedliner.
I'll get a dedicated cellphone with no SIM to use in the Truck.
Some sort of stereo setup, TBD.

My most significant mod will be wheels and tires.

If I can find good 19" wheels that fit I'll run 235/55R19 run-flat "sport truck and SUV" tires. That tire+wheel combination is significantly lighter and slightly smaller in diameter than stock (29.2" vs 29.5").

Those are Summer tires that only work properly down to 40F degrees. During Winter I'll run either the stock tires or, better yet, 235/45R17 (same slightly-smaller-than-stock 19.2" diameter as the Summer tires) All-Terrain or CrossClimate-type tires on the stock steelies.

If some high-zoot shocks/struts are available I'll upgrade to those too.

• Ford roof rack system made by Thule

My only concern is getting a double-din radio in the cab, and I've got a pile of various single and double DIN junkyard OEM radios to shove in there. Allocating some $$ for speaker cable and a pair or 2 pairs of 6'' speakers and I'll be happy with just that for a while!

I'm going to agree with you on this upgrade. From what we already know, the horn on the Slate is quite anemic... very similar to the VW Beetle's from the 60's era. Meep Meep! That's gotta go!

In fact, if that is the sound of Slate's "panic alarm" I don't see anyone coming to my rescue. It may, however, attract some coyotes since they will think a road runner is close by...
