Preordered and now having second thoughts...anyone else?

Good luck finding one for that. You will have to order one special to get the base price and zero options. Dealerships tend not to stock base models with no options. No profit margin in them. Even then you run into the possibility the discounts won’t be available when it arrives. And many people don’t qualify for all the discounts.
Here is the cheapest Maverick my local dealer has.

Since we are playing the anecdote game, 3 dealers within 30 minutes of me have a combined 330 Mavericks in stock, over 120 of which are XLs, and over 100 of them can be had for under 28k including doc(buffer gov't fees).

YMMV, but there are *plenty* of "cheap" Mavs out there if you look beyond your one small dealership by your house.

"Can't sell" is quite the stretch. Cars.com lists just over 15k total new '26 Mavericks for sale across the nation. Ford sold 155k of them last year. Normal inventory levels.

ETA: Ford already sold 78k through end of May '26. Well on pace to beat last year by a large margin. At the time of that number release, Ford had 37k unsold - I believe this number includes at dealer, in transit, and at factory, AKA every unit that a customer does not yet own.
Roughly 10 weeks inventory. Normal.

There's only 2 stop sale recalls on Mavericks currently. One is only on 25s and the repair is available. The other is on a very small percentage of them.

You are the one that brought up those 3 dealers and their inventory and pricing.
Average inventory right now over all Ford dealers would be in the range of 12 Mavericks. So 100 is very high.
No wonder they have such big discounts, they need to reduce inventory.

I’d bet there is a great forum dedicated to the Maverick. I assume it is called Maverickforums.com. Perhaps that would be more up your alley. I’ve been on this forum for 14-15 months and I am still not the least bit interested in the Maverick. You should go to Maverick forums and they are probably very receptive to what dealers have the best deals on Mavericks.

Well you did say $26,929 then you say those dealers selling them for $28k with Doc fees. 28k is higher than the $26,929 that I said good luck finding one for that… right?

I didn't say 26929, someone else did.

But that is well within range for a no option XL right now with employee pricing.

I only said under 28k to include those with some options added.
