point taken, but I also feel that by watching the video and seeing all the misleading information that they say are facts kind of show that someone is fearful that Slate will succeed and disrupt the market

Who here plans on towing a boat on the highway at 75 mph in Winter with their Slate? In the end, he could be right. Slate may prove to be a bust. But he should at least try to make his case with realistic examples.

Rage sells. Half the videos on YT are designed to provoke our anger. I'm not immune sometimes.

I've posted one or two cynical YT "Slate truck is a FAILURE" videos myself. I find them to be an amusing part of the Slate Truck story, and a great way to get discussion going. Strangers bond when there's a mutual foe nearby with their head up their butt.

There is something about including the words FAIL, FAILURE, or HATE in all caps that really gets the clicks. Maybe people just have it so bad that they need to feel better by knowing or thinking someone else is failing. It’s actually quite sad.

The channel is called RJ's Garage. They get B-roll footage from others and slap an AI voice on top. They actually produced a positive one on Slate just the other week, so they have no real editorial soul, just a click bait machine designed to get a reaction. YouTube is chocked full of these.

I was going to compare this kind of inflammatory, lie-filled rhetoric to something going on in LA, but realized this is not the appropriate forum.

It seems the science of making money on youtube is spotting something new that people want to know about and then immediately make videos regurgitating everything that you can find out about it. Then when youtube is flooded with those vids, start making negative videos.

I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said...but he said something about "we all drive in the 75mph range"...which I can't speak for everyone else, but I don't get near that speed in my normal day. He also kept saying 20,000 price point, which is a gray area. That IS what is advertised, but AFTER the rebate. So that wasn't even true in and of itself.

I DO want to see both good and bad reviews of the Slate...but not AI half-studied nonsense lol!

It keeps stating that they only raised 100 million. Maybe round A. But after round B they're at 700 million. I swear I heard somewhere they were at 1.1 billion but can't find it now.

Pretty much like much of news media, Headline to get your attention and you get to end of article and nothing there.

At the very beginning, they say "in the next 12 minutes..." on a 24 minute video. It was at that point I thought, "what the heck am I even doing." and turned it off.
