This is the best view I've personally seen of the frunk. Which seems huge and deep. Actually, the whole front section of the vehicle seems huge. That is a humongous long hood. I'll have to go back and look again at what sort of subframe they have to support the composite hood panel.

Nice that they're getting fleet interest at the show.

I wonder if they will try to get early deliveries to fleet customers before they hit the consumer orders? Especially, if they get some larger fleet orders it might be easier to work out the early bugs if just a handful of customers get the first 1000 trucks off the line. I imagine that helped Rivian with that delivery van to only have 1 customer in the early days.

It's reassuring to learn that the Slate booth was busy all day, but "happy hour" still managed to clear out the crowd.

Thanks to Mike for another excellent video!

Did I see an electrical outlet in the frunk, passenger side? That'll definitely come in handy. Love it.

For me, the most interesting new fact was that the Slate has "Slate Attach Points" throughout the truck bed and cab. These "attach points" are "threaded holes, electrical connectors that make it really easy to mount equipment to the vehicle". Like so much with Slate - now that I've heard they have these in the truck, I want to know more - how many, specific location, elec. specs, etc.

Also, the rep mentions that the traffic he's seen at the booth wanted to know when they can test drive the truck, and when they will be able to actually buy them. Sounds a lot like this forum.

Unfortunately I think it is just a 12V accessory outlet. It looks like the kind with a hinged lid. The 2nd thing is not clear - maybe a frunk release button? But doesn’t look like a 120V outlet. Third item is a light.

I am pleased with the size of the frunk. That mitigates the loss of extended-cab space for me - I mostly need a place for tool bags, chains, spare gloves, and other, you know, crap.

On the subject of storing crap, and my Maverick rear seat is full of it, I hope Slate or somebody else will come up with an extended cab kit. That kit would not add seats. It would just extend the cab back about 18" and hopefully let you utilize the footwell for "crap" - accessing it from inside. I'm not sure of the dimensions needed to do that. I think sales would be higher with a kit like that. I've had multiple Ranger single cabs. I always wished I had an extra foot behind the seats.

I think the middle one is a lightswitch.

I'd bet it's a frunk release. Aren't they required now in any frunk/trunk?

As far as V2L, I seriously doubt the Slate will have a 120V outlet, as convenient as that would be. If by some chance it will have one, wouldn't it be in the bed? Besides worksite usability, that would put it closer to the inverter which I assume is in the rear near the charge port.

Yup, that as an accessory living the truck bed open, but I’d the midgate open to allow full access.

Just keep in mind that storing all that extra gear and associated weight doesn’t help your range, which is already limited right out of the gate.

I suspect this is valid on an ICE as well and will likely garner similar concern. I know I can look at the mpg, maybe grumble a bit, but I don’t unload anything, afteral, if I put it in 6 months ago I must still need it.
