In case you missed it, here is a handy spec sheet of the Slate truck with weights, dimensions, payload, charging, and performance. I printed this out and laminated it for easy reference.
It's actually posted on their website, if you know where to look... *

Ground clearance? And I didn’t get any indication from the press release video, but did they explain why the dismal towing capacity? 1000lbs isn’t even a small boat and trailer, barely a motorcycle and trailer. I don’t see 2000lb as being difficult with this unibody construction. Also no AWD option on a pickup/SUV? By the time these specs improve will
The price be 37,500 before incentives?
I suspect the low tow rating has mostly to do with the power output which is very low compared for many other EVs. The other part might be cooling, either motor, or battery

I'm assuming 3,602 lbs is with the smaller battery. Not all that bad. Just a hair heavier than my Maverick (3,550). As a rule, BEVs can really get up there in weight, chewing through tires really fast. But at 3,602, the Slate looks not half bad.

It would be the second lightest EV on the market at that weight. (500e is just over 3000)

If they go with LFP for the base battery then they might come in a bit higher than the original spec.
As in higher in weight? I really think they would do their best to avoid that at all costs. They did confirm with a chat I had that basically every drive train and suspension component is off the shelf for ease of parts availability. That included the battery pack. So it will likely be decently un-optimized as far as weight/packaging, as they will basically be building around it.

A 55 kWh LFP battery will be heavier than a 55 kWh NMC. If they have changed chemistries then the weight on the spec sheet will be different unless they reduce battery capacity which wouldn’t be well received.

That honestly was probably the reason the chose NMC honestly, sure more cost on a cheap vehicle, but the wanted to weight help. I definitely think they would keep or increase range over keeping weight though

The Slate comments on battery that I watched were mixed on why they chose NMC. And they also said they were reassessing that choice after "liberation day". They siad it was a mix of capability, specs, cost, and that it had to be sourced in the USA. They really haven't said anything since "we're reassessing our battery supplier", hinting that they were looking for a better deal after so many OEMs cancelled American battery contracts.
