From Slate:

"And the award for the newest window cranks at the old car show goes to…us. Obviously."

Numbers on the windows include: 001, 007, 012, 014, 030.

I have no idea what that means.

FIVE trucks at the show?

And they've got VINs of 012, 014, 007, freaking THIRTY(!), and 001?

Let's go with that DV2 production rate! For the demo days event with "Display model only, no hop-ins, please." in the description (Edit: yes, https://slate.auto/en/events uses the singular "model", not 5 modelS), I'd thought they were still bottlenecked by vehicle availability and only had the one hand-built prototype to show. With at least 30 (assuming sequential numbering) that have rolled off the line and are independently mobile, it seems more likely to be a regulatory delay preventing them from giving ride-alongs quite yet.

Incidentally, assuming random selection by Slate (though #001 is probably not that random) and sequential numbering, the famous German tanks estimation formula N = m + (m/n) - 1 where m is the largest observed serial (30) and n is the number of samples (5) indicates a population about 35 trucks from which these were pulled.

Excited to see the posts from Alameda. Who's going?

PS: Love the #014 hot wheels flame decal, that's hilarious.

I'd love to know how many miles the early prototypes (with the production intent EV drivetrain) have on them. Evey mile at this point is durability testing!

015 through 029 are going for crash testing. Maybe. Probably. Who knows?

That 030 really stood out, not in color (boring), but sequence.

We know nothing, and that's cool. The latest long video shows half assembled seats, tired people, and body panels all askew. Then this. They are messing with us, I tell ya!

The recent DV2 video shows VIN 68 looking mostly complete.

Thanks @Admin for filling the gaps in my FB share!

I looked up the event and it is pretty wild. 😂 Here's a clip of many of the unusual rides.

Slate trucks are shown at 24:10
