I can see why that could be different, perhaps cheaper than the SUV and just remove top and windows, assuming windows are removeable.
Does anyone else find it surprising that Slate was able to fully price up the SUV and fastback kits, but pricing for open air kit, which is an essential part of these kits, is still unavailable?

That's the exactly kind of nonsense that I have been bitching about.

Don't get me wrong. I love the Slate and all its variations that make it so cool.
I have preordered one, and I am looking forward to ordering and taking possession of one.

Maybe that's why all the shucking and jiving about what goes with what and at what cost is making me crazy.

Just my conjecture here: I'm wondering if they are still working with a supplier for an included soft top/cover?

That's my hope versus a "we didn't engineer a way to connect a soft top to the roll cage," which I feel like is a possibility given they've been rather...

...cagey about it. I'll see myself out.

I was always planning on just removing the shell when I want to go open air. A soft top would be convenient though.

IMHO there's a pretty good chance a soft top will be available.

An early prototype had a crude one installed.

I would be down for a soft top option with ability to revert to completely truck mode as needed- storing top, seat, +/- roll bar, depending on task.
