Wild!
Doesn’t the configurator say you have to get the square back SUV kit to order the Open air kit? I kind of feel like the only thing in the open air kit is pieces that finish off the back of the cab and the tops of the quarter panels that are exposed when you remove the SUV top. If that is the case I would think the open air kit would not matter if it was a square back or fastback. Unless the fastback is attached differently.I contacted an agent at Slate today. The engineers are currently evaluating all the components needed for the the open air kit to work with the fastback. There will be updates soon from what I was told.
Woah! It has. But it is still here: https://www.slate.auto/en/how-many-body-stylesNever mind the Cargo Kit, which never was in the Maker and has now disappeared from the Fleet web page!
FWIW, it's still linked from the FAQs (under "How many body styles are there?")Woah! It has. But it is still here: https://www.slate.auto/en/how-many-body-styles
But who knows for how long that "Cool Story" will still be there? I think the link I provided above is orphaned.
Info i received todayYep. Again, contradictory, or at least confusing, info from Slate.
I realize this not a production vehicle yet, but if they don't make up their minds soon about some basic stuff, it never will be.
Some of us have put down $300 non-refundable on this, and the only model / package / price we are sure about is the base truck.
It's beginning to sound like like the old jokes about low MSRP model car that doesn't actually exist... you know, the one that doesn't come with wheels or seats, those are extra cost options!
We'll find out in the "coming weeks," which could mean 20 weeks.Wow! Excellent news. I don't see any mention of whether the Cargo Kit top will have windows or not or maybe a choice of either. Maybe it does not look like the one they had pictured and pulled. ???
I have been mentally moving to the SUV “kit” after I order the base truck…to ensure all 3 options are available. Hopefully not a huge conversion process to and from SUV.I am still thinking the "Open air kit" may not be so much of a kit as "get an suv kit, and stop at step 10."
