It appears they are trying to: replace the glovebox owner's manual with a trouble code driven, diagnostic chatbot. While that's a change for some, it seems to take good advantage of the world we now occupy.

I'm optimistic this is a good sign for the effective implementation of Slate U, or at least a host of links to useful resources.

As others have said, I hope it's not a subscription service, but time will tell.

Looks like they also do diagnostic tools, so maybe they will be involved with part of the Slate app?

I sincerely doubt that the Tweddle diagnostic service will be rolled out via a paid subscription. I suspect it will be similar to Tesla’s service app which uses AI for troubleshooting and diagnostics. You then have the option to schedule service if the diagnostics cannot remedy the problem.

Seems like a smart move to partner with company that does that type of thing for a living. That way Slate isn’t learning a new skill from scratch.
The article specifically mentions repair & modifications, which seems exactly what Slate U has been proposed to do

Just came across this. Still digging trying to understand what exactly Tweddle will do. Slate University probably?

Looks like they will have a huge hand in Slate U.

I've not used Teslas service app personally but I've heard it close to useless for the level of self repair we all are expecting to be able to do. I personally just want an online Haynes manual, the old school ones that had pinouts, wire colors, real advice written by people that got greasy and dirty.

Tweddle Group has partnered with Slate Auto to enable do-it-yourself (DIY) service and repair capabilities for the upcoming Slate electric truck, supporting a new era of user-driven vehicle maintenance.

The collaboration focuses on delivering advanced digital service documentation, interactive repair guides, and diagnostic tools that allow owners to better understand, maintain, and repair their vehicles. This aligns with Slate’s broader vision of a simplified, customizable EV platform designed for affordability and ease of ownership. The Slate truck itself is engineered for modular upgrades and user-led maintenance, reducing reliance on traditional dealership networks.

Todd Headlee, CEO of Tweddle Group, stated that empowering customers with accessible, high-quality service information is key to improving ownership experiences. Jeremy Snyder, COO of slate, added that enabling DIY repair capabilities reflects Slate’s commitment to simplicity, affordability, and giving customers greater control over their vehicles.

Tweedle is part of the CJK group
https://www.cjkgroup.com/about-us/
The web page doesn't tell you much but at the bottom is a list of other companies under the CJK umbrella which is more interesting.
Continuum; marketing
KGL; Publications
Sheriden; Print and publishing.
Tweedle; Product information
WLX; Supply chain.
All a good fit for Slate.
