Body Panel Swap Potential

What is the potential for an array of “body kits” to be available for this truck to broaden the customization available?

From what I understand - the side bed panels and front quarter panels are able to be unbolted and replaced to avoid the need for body shop repairs for simple fender benders.

I also understand that the body geometry was designed to be fairly square and flat with seam lines strategically placed to cut down on complex geometry for ease of applying wraps.

This makes me wonder if we could see aftermarket parts manufacturers having a more accessible entry point into offering alternate quarter panel and bed panel styles that would allow drivers to change the look of the vehicle further. Provided there ends up being demand for something like this of course.

Example illustrations attached that lock in on modifications to only the front quarter panels, side rails, and bed panels in a modest lifted prerunner look and another in a more exaggerated low trackcar version. (Compliments of Chatgpt)

Any company currently making body kits or ground effect kits for the tuner scene would be able to produce kits for the Slate, I would imagine. Just tap into the existing mounting points and you're good to go.

It's worth noting that the horizontal coach line down the middle isn't a seam between two pieces though. Someone posted a closeup at one of the roadshow stops. It's just a deep groove in the plastic.

@Imhotep, Thats the one! Now that I look again, i guess the front fender is two pieces at the coach line. It tucks up under the hood that hooks over the top. I assume the rear wheel and bed rail is one piece like the door.

While I like the idea of the DIY aero body kits, it doesn't scream "performance" on a vehicle that does zero to 60 in 8 seconds.

But I would still install it anyway as it looks cool and would help differentiate it from all other blank Slates. It does more for the looks than a simple wrap.

I thought the same. You have two sets of body fenders for weekend and weekday. I cannot wait to get mine to start scanning and modeling
