You could get the 2 tower kits, I just noticed one has a brake light, and use those as a base for a soft top, or open top cargo hauling or whatever.
I feel like by launch they may have a lot more accessory options. Since it's basically modular, and easy self install, they could have 5 different console options and so on.

Those with the optional rear tire could go the old-school route of the third taillight above the tire:

Assuming a rather rare scenario where the vehicle rolled onto one side and let's say the battery is on fire in such a way that egress through the other door is intolerable, the SUV roof has latches that lets it pop off and the occupants can leave through there. The rich rebuilds video shows these in the corners.
My take on the sub is simple. If Slate can make the truck be a dingy behind my RV then the suv kit will be used to pack u stuff with.th stuff currently fits in my four door jeep. But with the covered back and frunk, it would be more room. And lighter.

Curious as to how that rear mounted tire works with the SUV package.
I think it would work the same way as without the SUV Kit. Swing it away to open the tailgate. Apparently the tailgate is what holds the window closed.

It looks like there's no handle or latch mechanism on the rear window. If not the tailgate, what secures the rear window when it's on the SUV Kit?

That's a TBD item, it appears. There are lots of use cases where you'd want the glass down but still carry long items that are poking out of the tailgate (lumber, etc).

I still don’t see the geometry for topper window to open with tire in place/tailgate to open. I agree, that would be a heavy tailgate.
probably just need a better render.
In the existing render the tire carrier appears to have an arm that mounts to the bumper so it swings out toward the right side.
